Diy Love Crafts. | Watch How Easy It Is To Make A Tote Bag With No Sewing Required!

diy love crafts. | Watch how easy it is to make a tote bag with no sewing required!

My gals and I discovered and jumped on the diy stuff to sell bandwagon (easy money hacks), and I can say that it has been gratifying, to say the least. Our latest diy creative storage ideas for women on the go emphasizes reusing old t-shirts and turning them into totes that can store all our junk that we carry around with us when going about our daily lives. So let me take you through the process at our diy workshop and explain what you will need to complete this project and the means to get it done. I should also tell you that it is entirely customizable and you can make as many totes as you can in a short space of time. There is also a diy explainer video attached to this blog to give you visuals along with my instructions.

For this diy project, you will need as many t-shirts as you want to upcycle, a pair of sharp scissors and a nice flat surface. Let us start! Turn the t-shirt inside out and fold it in half from sleeve to sleeve and smoothen out on the flat work surface. Next, cut the sleeves off. Start the cut about two inches below the underarm seam and about three inches away from the inside seam of the sleeves (see photo). After the sleeves are removed, keep the shirt folded and remove the neck about three inches from the seam of the collar. Next, we are going to go down to the hem of the t-shirt and cut along the hemline because this is what we will use to seal the bag. Cut the hemline in half and gather the bottom of the t-shirt together, now you will use the hem that you just cut to tie the t-shirt closed. Make this knot very tight, and it will determine how much weight your new tote can endure when that is done cut off the excess strip of the hemline and discard. Finally, we are going to flip the t-shirt over and head off to yoga with our new tote bag!

diy upcycled clothing is a practice that I have been engaged in for a few years now. This time I am turning my old t-shirts into customized tote bags. So you will fold the t-shirt in half like I have done here and smoothen it out on a flat surface.

This t-shirt to tote is an excellent diy to sell hustle too if you are into this kinda diy craft thing like me. Okay, so you are going to cut the neck off of the t-shirt about three inches from the seam of the collar.

You can diy tye dye these totes as well, but I digress. So, I felt like I needed to post a picture of how to cut the collar off since I had someone send me a pic of them cutting along the seam. That won’t work out well for the handle of the tote we want to create.

This tote will be my new diy yoga mat bag as long as I get the time actually to attend a class. Anyway, cut the sleeves off three inches from the inner seam and all the way down about two inches from the underarm.

Yeah, make t into a tank top as well! This tank top look is the result of removing the collar and the sleeves from the t-shirt. If you have made it this far into the diy, let me extend my congratulations!

See this hemline, we are going to remove it!

Now, this is a no-sew diy project, so we will need something to seal the bottom of this bag shut. This is where our hemline comes in to play.

We need to cut the circle that the hemline created open because we will need it to make a secure knot at the base of our tote.

Gather the base of the t-shirt together.

I am bringing the bottom of the t-shirt together so I can tie the base of the bag completely closed. What use is a tote that doesn’t keep our items safely inside the bag right?

Slip the hemline under the t-shirt and knot securely.

Slip the hemline under the t-shirt and knot securely.

I brought the tie string up about three inches from the base because to tie this knot too close to the end of the t-shirt would risk some slippage.

Double knots guys, we can’t afford to lose our lipbalms through holes in the tote!

So I double knotted the base of the t-shirt like this. I wanted to make sure that when I put this new bag to work, my items will remain safe and secure.

Cut off the excess tie string once you are staisfied with your knot.

Cut off the excess tie string once you are staisfied with your knot.

I cut the extra pieces of string off once I was satisfied that nothing would be able to slip through. You can, of course, keep the hemline string intact in the bag since it won’t be visible at all and adjust as necessary.

Flip the bag over and examine for any adjustments and check the knotted base to double check for security.

I luckily didn’t have to do anything too strenuous for this tote bag to be fully functional and I am pleased with the outcome!

The real moment of truth comes when I start putting my gym gear into this tote!

With bated breath, I started packing for yoga class, and I was able to cram my towel, water, change of clothes, wallet and a book into this tote!
