My gals and I discovered and jumped on the diy stuff to sell bandwagon (easy money hacks), and I can say that it has been gratifying, to say the least. Our latest diy creative storage ideas for women on the go emphasizes reusing old t-shirts and turning them into totes that can store all our junk that we carry around with us when going about our daily lives. So let me take you through the process at our diy workshop and explain what you will need to complete this project and the means to get it done. I should also tell you that it is entirely customizable and you can make as many totes as you can in a short space of time. There is also a diy explainer video attached to this blog to give you visuals along with my instructions.
For this diy project, you will need as many t-shirts as you want to upcycle, a pair of sharp scissors and a nice flat surface. Let us start! Turn the t-shirt inside out and fold it in half from sleeve to sleeve and smoothen out on the flat work surface. Next, cut the sleeves off. Start the cut about two inches below the underarm seam and about three inches away from the inside seam of the sleeves (see photo). After the sleeves are removed, keep the shirt folded and remove the neck about three inches from the seam of the collar. Next, we are going to go down to the hem of the t-shirt and cut along the hemline because this is what we will use to seal the bag. Cut the hemline in half and gather the bottom of the t-shirt together, now you will use the hem that you just cut to tie the t-shirt closed. Make this knot very tight, and it will determine how much weight your new tote can endure when that is done cut off the excess strip of the hemline and discard. Finally, we are going to flip the t-shirt over and head off to yoga with our new tote bag!

Double knots guys, we can’t afford to lose our lipbalms through holes in the tote!
